Photo Search Entry Procedure
- All photographs must be submitted to the Hamilton County Extension office by 4:00 p.m., March 28th, 2026.
- A judge(s) will be responsible for selecting up to twelve (12) entries (6 youth (4th – 12th grade) and 6 adult). Finalists will be announced by April 7th.
- The finalists’ photo(s) will be posted on our Facebook page to be voted on (through 4 p.m., April 11th) for a Voter’s Choice award for both the youth division and adult division.
- The Voter’s Choice winners will be announced April 11th.
- The 12 first place finalists’ photos will be enlarged into 8×10 photos, framed, and displayed in our Extension office during the year.
- The photo owner is responsible for picking up framed photo from Extension office by selected date.
Photo Search General Rules
- Only Hamilton County residents (amateur photographers) may submit entries. Up to six (6) photos, one for each category, may be submitted per contestant.
- Each entry must be a digital photo in color or black and white. The setting should be 300dpi or if the photo is being submitted from a phone via email use the highest possible resolution.
- Entries must be submitted by email to Marilyn Cotton at mcotton4@utk.edu by 4:00 p.m., March 28th.
- The email must contain the photographer’s name, phone number(s) email address, mailing address and the photo(s). Submit each photo with a file name containing your name, youth or adult, photo category, and title. Example: Jane Doe_Adult_Flowers_Sunflower_in_garden
- The email must also contain the statement:
“I give permission to UT/TSU Extension – Hamilton County to use photo in publicity, bulletins, media, etc.”
Note: Entries submitted without the above statement will not be judged. - Entries will be judged on quality and message. There will be youth (4th thru 12th grade) and adult divisions for the categories below. Note – if your photo contains a person/people you must make sure you have permission from the person to use the photo.
