4-H Robotics – Team #18689 The 4-H Gear Grinders
Grades 8th – 12th. Youth in this 4-H club for senior high design, build, and program a robot for competitions. The group meets weekly on Thursday evenings during the fall and early spring at the Extension Office in Chattanooga and competes in FIRST Tech Challenge/FTC robotics competitions. The group also meets on additional days of the week when competitions are coming up. Volunteer coaches and mentors from the community help youth through the process of designing, programming, and building a robot to best compete in the year’s challenge. Community sponsorships are greatly appreciated.
New members are not currently being added. There is an annual registration fee for this club ($75, payable by the September season kick-off), to help pay for robotics supplies.

4-H STEM Club – NEW CLUB in 2025!!
Grades 4th – 8th. Youth in the 4-H STEM club learn how to code robots, build model rockets, use a 3-D printer, and work on other engineering projects. The group meets once a month on the second Monday of the month at the Extension Office in Chattanooga at 5:00 p.m. The first meeting of the new season is Monday, August 11, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. For more information, come to the August 11 meeting, and be sure to sign up for the monthly 4-H email newsletter.
