4-H STEM Club

Grades 4th – 8th. Youth in the 4-H STEM club learn how to code robots, build model rockets, and work on other engineering projects. The group meets monthly during the school year, on the second Monday of the month, with adjustments for holidays, at the Extension Office in Chattanooga at 5:00 p.m. Meetings are held 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. New youths are welcome at every meeting – enroll in 4-H (there is no cost to enroll in 4-H) at https://tiny.utk.edu/HC4H.

4-H Robotics – Team #18689 The 4-H Gear Grinders
Grades 8th – 12th. Youth in this 4-H club for senior high design, build, and program a robot for competitions. The Robotics Club is full at this time. Email HamiltonCounty4H@tennessee.edu to be added to the interest list.
The Robotics Club meets weekly on Thursday evenings during the fall and early spring at the Extension Office in Chattanooga and competes in FIRST Tech Challenge/FTC robotics competitions. The group also meets on additional days of the week when competitions are coming up. Volunteer coaches and mentors from the community help youth through the process of designing, programming, and building a robot to compete in the year’s FTC game.
There is an annual registration fee for this club ($75, payable by the September season kick-off), to help pay for robotics supplies. The 4-H Gear Grinders are a competitive FIRST
