June 8-12, 2026. Youth who have completed 4th, 5th, or 6th grade can attend 4-H Junior Camp. They will have a great week with lots of fun activities available to choose from in a safe, positive environment. They can try new things and make new friendships that will last a lifetime, or they can take part in sports and activities that they already enjoy.
Campers at 4-H Junior Camp choose from lots of activities, including arts and crafts, tie-dyeing or airbrushing t-shirts, swimming pool with water slide (certified lifeguards on duty), woodworking (with help from trained camp staff), Gaga ball, fishing, zipline and low ropes course, wildlife walks, stream studies, fun physics activities, canoeing and kayaking, fossil room, archery and rifle range (supervised by experienced, trained instructors), group games, goKarts, robotics, drones, and more. The cabins, dining hall, and recreation hall are all modern, air-conditioned facilities with adjoining bathrooms.
Space is limited. Once the camper limit is reached, your child will be added to a waiting list. Cost is $400, which includes transportation to and from camp in a chartered bus, meals, lodging, t-shirt, and activities at the Austin 4-H Center, an ACA-accredited camp in Greeneville, Tennessee. Camp is chaperoned by 4-H Agents and adult and teen volunteers who are screened and trained in youth development and child safety. All adult volunteers, Agents, and camp staff at 4-H camp have passed background checks through UTK.
Parents/guardians can come by the Hamilton County Extension Office during office hours (8-4:30 Monday – Friday) to register their child and pay for camp by cash, check, or card. All camp fees and forms are due by May 21.
